Your problem is that you are plugging a microphone preamp into another microphone preamp. Why? What the...? Your gain staging is screwed, and that's why you are getting lousy results. You don't need to go into your PreSonus Audio Box, first. There is no point in doing that. It's like towing an additional car behind your car so that you have a spare tire to use from the other car. And if you had just looked in your trunk, you would have seen you already have a spare tire. The same can be said for what you are trying to do. You record your guitar through your audio box to your computer. Or you record your guitar through your 6505. You don't do both. It's one or the other.

After the recording, that's when you use the re-amp box. The output of your 6505 or, Audio Box. Then feeds the re-amp box and the re-amp box feeds a guitar amplifier that you put a microphone on. And that microphone is plugged into your 6505, or your Audio Box to record to a separate track in your timeline. And that's the only way it should be done. You are putting a pair of underwear on over top of your underwear right now. Go to the bathroom and take off one pair of underwear. Then not only will you be more comfortable, your recordings will sound a lot better. But this is also assuming that you have recorded your guitar with a microphone on the cabinet and a DI box on the guitar to record a dry guitar track. It's that dry guitar track that gets fed to the re-amp box that then feeds, another guitar amplifier that has a microphone on it. And in fact, this box is not 100% necessary. It's a convenience item. When you don't know how to do it correctly yourself.

Is this "low midrange hum" there all the time or is it there only when there is genuine signal being sent through the JCR reamp box? Does the hum change in level with signal amplitude? Is there a "ground lift" switch on the reamp box?
