I wonder how it will compare in conversion quality, if it sounds better and has less latency than the Fireface 800 and if TotalMix will be easier to comprehend?
I don't need anymore low to mid level effects or plugins added to my DAW pool however, maybe its just the thing here and these added effects are a welcoming surprise to an interface!
I said it a few years back predicting interfaces are going to be the next big wow, looks like RME is doing it again.
I can't imagine how many FF800 were sold. Recording.org has hundreds if not a thousand users with that product. Might be just the time to snag up a few used FF800.

The preamps are supposed to be a step up-the same ones in the new Micstacy. The converters are supposed to be the same as the Micstacy and ADI192 so also a step up. It will not be chainable at this juncture to either another UFX or a FF800.
However, stand alone mode is always a priority with me. I do all my presets at home before a gig but it is even better that I'll be able to tweak onsite if I needed to.
A very key feature however is the ability in a future update to have a standalone unit that records to a USB drive.
I don't know if I'll go this route because I am still happy with my FF800 setups. But I am mightily tempted.

Honestly, I'm just as interested in your review of PT9 as I am of the UFX. I think the UFX will be a step up from the FF800, but I already own two FF800's so unless one of you trusted folks raves in an embarrassing fashion my G.A.S. should stay in check.
PT9 on the other hand I would be interested in-especially if Avid got their act together and made a version with a 64 bit engine.
