well when we decided to plugin a 3 bulb lamp in the same circuit my firepod was pluged into I believe it got some kind of power surge or something. It blew the circuit and now my firepod won't turn on. boy am I stupid.
I wrote to ask if anyone has any knowledge on what might happen from this blown circuit deal. Is it a good idea to buy a different adaptor (maby I got lucky and only blew the adaptor? odviously I dont know what I'm talking about).
I e-mailed the company Pre-Sonus who makes the firepod, but I'm sure they'll take forever. So any advice would help.

I assume you mean your FirePod won't power up even if you plug it into a different outlet. I believe that FP10s (FirePods) use an external transformer but the switching regulator is inside the unit. Since it's unlikely that the transformer would have gone short, the finger points to the switching power regulator inside the case.

Sounds like a return to the dealer for repair, I'm afraid.

I've no idea how much Presonus would charge for switching regulator replacement, but I should imagine they have a minimum charge for any non-warranty repair. The trouble would be if it has taken out other parts of the unit.

You could do a bit more detective work on your own first. You say "it won't turn on", but what happens if you plug just the transformer unit into a mains outlet? If that's OK, what happens if you plug the whole unit in but switched off? If that's OK, what is the state when it's plugged in and switched on? Are there any LEDs on?
