FIREWIRE HARD DRIVE & CUBASE 5.0 VST PROBLEMS

• Apple G4 400 OS 9.0.4
• Firewire drive using Heat Utilities 1394 Driver

1. Serious problems have arisen associated with Firewire being unable to complete reading or writing from Cubase 5 VST. Although sound files are playable from other utilities, e.g. instant player etc.
2. The drive simply hangs the system and we've been unable to use the drive.
3. Heat Utilities test showed drive OK on all 3 partitions, also optimised using Heat Utilities.
4. Norton Disk Doctor cannot complete Checking Media hanging after checking about 70%.

   Does anyone have experience of these problems and a way of overcoming them? Please reply to johnwesleybarker@madsafish.com .
