Be kind this is my first post. (not trying to make trouble, really)

I would like some general opinions because I'm a IT professional (PC/Linux) and musician; I just built my first DAW. The guitar player in my band is a professional engineer that uses Pro Tools (and it's great). Nevertheless, we seem to have endless debates over the merits of each our systems, but my feeling is they are just tools, nothing more.

Both hold unique techinical advantages in various ways but I think both are effective. I would like to hear others thoughts and rational for each platform. This question is poised from the standpoint of someone with technical expertise but new to the professional audio field. I appreciate your feedback.

TIA

Jazzhead
First of all welcome to RO :c:
Second of all, take a look at the Mac forum regarding the post on First One Here. You'll see I've already won that argument in all aspects.
Instead of creating several more threads where we repeat ourselves over and over again, like a broken record, let's keep it in one place. M'kay? I'm going to close this thread so this don't happen. No offense meant just trying to keep things in order!
Peace
