Looking forward to getting the LAWP version 5 program. Love the 4.x program!

Currently use LAWP 4.61 because it offers the best syncronization with the ADAT. Although I only use the ADAT when working with a guitarist friend exchaning ADAT tapes for recording projects, I still want to like to be able to use the ADAT with LAWP version 5.

Does anyone **still** use the ADAT? (It seems that the ADAT is becoming obsolete. . . three online music stores don't even promote the ADAT on their web site!) If you still use the ADAT as part of your recording gear, any success in syncing your ADAT with Logic 5?

My computer set-up:

Dell Workstation 420
Pentium III 733
512 MG DDRAM
Two hard drives at 7200 rpm (one dedicated for audio recording)
MOTU 2408 mkII
MOTU Midi Timepiece AV
Window ME
DirectX 7.1
ADAT XT20

Thank you ahead of time. Any comments/suggestions will be welcomed!

Respectfully,

For anyone who may still use an ADAT in their recording setup:

Finally installed the LAWP 5 program. The program using the above software/hardware setup works fine with the ADAT. So far, there is solid sycnronization!

Thought I'd give you and update.

Just curious. How many of you still use the ADAT in some fashion??

P. S. I love the LAWP 5 program. Glad they updated the automation setup.

Ted - what kind of sync - ASIO 2 (ADAT sync cable to an audio card)? or MTC (BRC to Midi interface)?

Dedric:

I sync the ADAT to computer using the MOTU 2408 and MOTU Midi Timepiece AV. The Midi Timepiece goes goes to the "Sync In" of the ADAT. The "Sync Out" of the ADAT goes to the 2408.

Unfortunately, I'm at work (I'm an ICU nurse who works nights at a small rural hospital) and can't give you details. If you are interested in a detailed set-up of this configuration, please let me know and I'll post the configuration when I get home.

I'm just happy the the whole set up syncs nicely.

Hope this helps.

Ted

This is good news. It didn't work last I tested it (4.x?). I don't use my ADAT much anymore, but would love to sync it to my Paris rig via ADAT sync. It makes me wonder if Logic now supports sample accurate ASIO sync (assuming ASIO is actually synced to the ADAT timecode, rather than just the transport and using it the same way it would MTC).

Thanks,
Dedric
