OK here is the pictures of the mixing room so far. I will also be recording vocals and guitar in this room. The room is 9'x10'x8'. I made DIY sound dampening out of 3'5"x15"x4' acoustical insulation ( the green stuff ). So far this dampened the sound a lot but I can still hear some bad mid range echo. I am hoping the thicker curtains will help. The floor is burber carpet with underlay padding. What else should I do to this room?
Also, I was looking at the m-audio studio 3 monitors for $89 to buy. But the frequency range looks like it only goes down to 100hz. I would like something that covers the whole range at least to somewhere around 40hz and up to 22khz or so. What is the best bang for my buck regarding monitors, factoring in my room size, etc?

I hope the info I gave here is enough for some of you pro's to hook me up proper. Any more info needed, please let me know. I am in past no return and I want to be able to mix pro tracks after I am done.
PS. I just added some Room EQ Wizard Pictures. This was done using my condenser mic and pc speakers.

It's hard to tell what kind of treatments you need from here, but it seems as though some well-placed broad band absorbers and perhaps a few early placed narrow-band absorbers would be well advised.
Also, I agree with MT- don't waste your money on the $89 monitors. There is nothing anywhere NEAR that price range though that will give you an accurate picture of the frequency range that you mention. I would save up a budget of at least 10x that amount.
If not possible, consider a passive pair of KRK ST6s with a decent/inexpensive amp. This will still put you in the $400-$500 range (unless used), but will give you a pretty decent monitoring setup.

I also uploaded some raw samples of recordings. If this helps with suggestions. My blue tube pre amp seems to be giving some hiss. Anyone know how to fix this? Or is it normal?
