has anyone heard a DBX 215 EQ?

compressor - FMR RNC $179

Eq - Presonus EQ3B $100

combination - Joemeek ThreeQ $200

the RNC is great, the EQ3B probably isn't but will work. Not much else out there for your budget. The meek is supposedly a pretty good budget channel strip.(pre,eq,comp)

Mark....For that price I would look to the used rack.There several brands that have held their quality vs. price..Symetrix is one and the 525 compressor is a great unit for the money....usually under $100 on Ebay....its a very capable piece that doesnt add a lot of its own artifacts but can be driven to pump hard if thats what you want..As a nice contoller for overages at a 2:1 or 4:1 ratio it really shines.EQ, on the other hand, is a hit or miss situation.A lot of EQ's at that price come with a high noise floor.Perhaps an increase in mic technique and placement is in order rather than a piece of gear.
