While working on a client's computer, I went back through every single thread of this section of the board. Viruses are a wonderful thing, and great for the cash flow. But I digress.

Question: Anybody have experience with Sennheiser E-series, such as the E845 or E945 as SM58 replacements for live performance use?

For both male and female rock vocalists. I'm looking for something with more clarity and quality.

I have an SM58 in my locker now, but figured since it was designed in 1958 (hence the name), the newer designs might have something more to offer.

The E845 has a rising high end, but not nearly the peak of the E855 or the newer E945. I am primarily interested in the E845.

I see mostly Beta 58 at live shows these days.

I've been wading through some of the horror stories about the lousy Sennheiser customer service, especially when compared to that of Shure and Audix.

I think I'll look long and hard at the Audix OM6 and OM7, and walk away from the Sennheisers. The high cost of repair and number of unhappy customers is enough to make me move on.
