i'm looking for some good books that will have comprehensive information to help get me going with recording, and some that will be good references to keep handy in the studio in the future, even after i've gotten a hang of the basics, to help with questions and problems that might pop up so i don't have to hekcle you guys here every time i can't figure something out. also, any other reading recommendations on other related or not-so-related topics (music/recording industry, acoustics, theory, whatever) would be cool, just for fun. cheers.

VINTAGE RECORDINGS BOOK

Hi, I am brand new on the forum. I am based in Paris, France. Is anybody could advise me on a book on 60's/70's recording techniques? Type of mics, mics set up, console, effects, outboards,... To be more precise, I am trying to get informations on the way Soul Labels as Stax, Hi, Atlantic, Fame, Motown...were recording in the period 60's/70's.
Thanks for you help.
