Looking to buy a new computer for recording

Hi There,

My (admittedly fairly minimalist) recording setup was recently written off in a fire. I am awaiting a payout from the insurance company, and this gives me an opportunity to wipe the slate clean and start again from scratch.

The hub of all of this will of course be the computer. I have been umming and erring over this for a long time and feel I need some guidance.

Will acoustic panels eliminate bleed from speakers to microphone?

Working in a finished residential home basement shooting music instructional videos. I have a Shure SM58 on a mic stand just above the picture frame, aimed down at the teacher's mouth. I also need to have speakers on for the two musicians to hear their instruments (guitar and keyboard). I positioned the speakers on the floor pointing in the opposite direction of the video frame, i.e.

Church Organ Recording

Over the years I have recorded quite a few pipe organs in different venues, some more successful than others - but yesterday doing some prep work for a project in the summer, I came across a really knowledgeable organist - who is also an old school recordist, 78 restorer and collector of old and rare BBC broadcasts of organ music from the 1930s.

Hey all. I've been working on an original song for a uni assessment. I'm happy with a lot of it, but I'm still unsure how to proceed with a few things.
Everything was recorded in at our uni studio including the synths. There is still one more guitar part to go in but I've almost finished that.

AT 2035 and Scarlett Solo Issue

I have the AT2035 going into my Scarlett solo > Line out Rca Cable> Hum box input 1+2> Output 1+2> RCA converter 3.55mm > Line in on my PC.

My issue is I can hear my pic on sound recorder and hear the mic on listen to in recording devices of the PC. I cant hear the mic on any other program. Like discord, Skype, mumble, games with friend or anything else.

Critique of acoustic guitar tune please?

I recently finished an album of all-acoustic guitar songs. Kinda jazzy, folky, mellow easy listening. I recorded this particular tune with 2 condenser mics focused in an X-Y configuration near 12th fret. The mics were 2 AKG P170's. The mics were both run into 2 separate tube preamps then into a KORG D888 digital 8 track machine. I recorded the rhythm track first then the lead track next.
