I thought before the end of the year that it would be fun to share future personal or studio projects.

Myself, I decided the writing of songs was in order. (after 32 years being a drummer...)
I'm not a very good writer but I think practice won't hurt.
Also it would be nice to have promotion tools for the studio

As we get close to the end of the year, well know what is just around the corner….

I've been using Reaper for years, and every now & then people attempt to brag that they use "Pro Tools", but I have yet to hear what is so significant about Pro Tools over a DAW like Reaper.

Reaper is capable of everything that I need and much more that I don't need.
(Now some might wonder what my use of a DAW is, but that is aside from my question ;) )

While researching the state of computer-based recording back in 2004 it came as a positive surprise that the time finally appeared ripe for making the switch.

Today was the baby step into this new way (for me) of doing recording and mixing. I was fairly certain (thanks to help from others here, audiokid in particular) about how to get going. Today braving the install of the RME HDSPe card into the Mac was step one. Before all that I had to setup power and network etc.

I am looking for a mic shield (not a pop filter or wind screen) that will attach to the Blue Yeti microphone/stock stand. Any ideas?

Bought a used Korg MS2000. Half the programs works fine, but in half of the programs most of the keys are silent. Any suggestions?

I am an operatic tenor with a slightly darker sound, and my smart thinking before was to buy a decent priced portable recorder to do all my work for me, which was the Zoom H4N. Even at that, I don't know how to use it to its fullest capacity.

How can you tell if theres too much signal going into a dbx 266XL? There doesn't appear to be any input meter like you have on other brands of compressor.
