M-audio 44 or Mia or Waveterminal 192L?
Okay so these 3 cards are in my budget. Any opinions? I will be using them in a PC to record 1 or 2 track voice (spoken word) recording. Using Sound Forge software.
thanks in advance!

Mic/Preamp combo for Female Pop Vocals
Just wanted to get a list of mic/preamp combos that people are using to capture female pop vocals. The lady I'm tracking has a range similar to Celine Dion, Laura Fabian.
Thanks,
Allen :w:

Anyone tried fostex headphones?
Hi,
I had some beyers DT 250 for musicians but they've been stolen. They were good, I like them a lot, but now I'm in a tight budget due to the robery (the beyers were not the only stuff they stole, ouch)... and now I've found a very good price for the Fostex T50RP, and just wanted someone's opinion, cause I've never tried fostex headphones.
Any help will be appreciated

FireWire HD for MOTU 828
Hi,
I'm just configuring a portable setup like this: iBook + 828 + 80 GB FireWire HD. Glyph M Project looks nice because it has the MOTU look and it's also rackmount, but too expensive. At Glyph website they say it's the only drive recommended by MOTU.

small recording booth
I have a pretty small recording booth, infact some may call it a closet (roughly 6X5X8 ft). It is coverd with bed padding foam (much cheaper than auralex), and it has a retractable closet door with vent holes in it. I wanted to upgrade to get more isolation by padding the room with auralex and putting in a solid door.

First Fader Up
I'm quite new in the art of mixing. The thing is i allways start my mixes 0dB OHL & 0dB OHR,and from there on. This metoHD allways worked for me but i would like to know which are the one you "daily mixers" use, and in which styles of music you start this way and in which the other way around.

Recording Fender Rhodes
A band I am working with is going to be recording some tracks with a Fender Rhodes. I have never recorded a Rhodes before. The player tells me he has a nice matching amp that he really likes the sound of. It breaks up nicely. What is the best approach to recording this instrument? I have the following tools to work with. Preamps: API 312+, TL Audio pre/comp, TL Audio pre, Mackie XDR pres.

The death of Auto Tune? MELODYNE - a user report
I asked a friend to describe Melodyne a new stand-alone audio manipulation software... He has a demo at home and saw it being demontrated at the Musik Messe in Frankfurt last weekend... Chris is from Belgium and has perfect English (of course!)
