For the Pros out there:

BLUE mics
Greetings,
I operate a facility based on a Roland VS studio and plan on updating to a PARIS by this time next year. This fall, I will update my front-end.
I was wondering if anyone has had experience with the BLUE Kiwi and Cactus mics. Any feedback is appreciated.
Thank you,
Big T. Smith

"Too Hot to Handle" studio book?
The current issue of TapeOp has a brief blurb about a new book titled "Too Hot to Handle" by Randy McNutt. The book is an "Illustrated Encyclopedia of American Recording Studios" - has anyone purchased it or read it? Is it a worthwhile read for anyone interested in 50's era studios?

Delta 1010 - Neuendo Problem
I am using a Midiman delta 1010 as part of my studio setup with

And what are your experiences?
The brand new world of software-samplers and synths - is it working for you?
Did it change the way you work?

What CD burners support 1x?
Hi,
I want to put together a pc to use as a daw and I was reading the specs on some CD burners. None of them seemed to support 1x! Most didn't even support 2x either. Have I missunderstood or is there only some units that can still do this?
Thanks

The Stereo field and Ambiance?
Is there anything to be done with stereo fields when mixing down to two tracks?
We prerecorded instrument tracks, played them back during a live church performance, recording the vocals and congregation. Used four small condensers (AT4041's) pointed from the stage in a semi-circle on separate tracks. Lead vocal on a Beyer M500 through a GR-MP2.

Digital in and Analog out?
I use the Boss VF-1 effect processor. I know the Guitar Input on front overrides the left/right Input on back...However, Can I use the Digital Out and the Analog Outs at the same time? Or does one override the other? Is there a general rule? Or does it vary on the piece of gear?
