Mic with clean (or flat) sound ?

Forums

I have this setup : Windows 7 64 bit 16GB RAM . MOTU UltraLite mk3 hybrid + Mytek Stereo96 DAC .Dynaudio BM5A MKII.
Gonna buy Mytek Stereo 96ADC + Speck micPre 5.0 .
I have a small homestudio room with acoustic treatment, so it sounds balanced .
I have been looking for mic's, but it's a jungle for me that never had recorded before .

For Kurt... and any other analog fans. LOL

Hot off the Studer 2 track.

I don't even have a date... the box doesn't say. Figures.. I knew my labeling handicap would come back to bite me one of these days. :)

Best guess is mid 80's.

Which meant that it was tracked on a 1" 16trk Tascam MS16. Console? Maybe Neotek. The years haven't been kind to my memory.

Phoenix Audio DRS-Q4

I bought one of these used a few months back from Vintage King. It had some problems so I sent it back to them under their quite good warranty. It came back with other issues so it got sent to Phoenix Audio for a rebuild/repair. All of this covered under warranty from Vintage King. EXCELLENT customer service and communication. I can't recommend them enough! Now to the gear itself.

M/S Mastering.

Forums

Hi, my name is Jorge Carvalho, i'm a student at School of Arts from Catholic University of Porto.

I'm doing my master's degree in Sound Design. My dissertation is about the M/S Mastering Technique, and if you are a master engineer, i like to make if possible a few questions regarding this method.
Is very simple, click on the link to go to a little survey on google docs.

Help me get started

I want to utilize a computer for recording; have been using a Tascam neo2488 "studio in a box." Oh, it's driving me crazy. Nothing is easy or convenient on there. I really long for the days of an actual physical, knob eq in my fingers. Can I get a little mixing board, run mics in to that, and then run from the board in to a computer with "DAW?" What's the best way to do this?
