How to know what sounds good or not ?
Hi gang,
As the years go by, I realise the good old days of big studios are fainting.
Audio product makers understood that long ago and they are responsable for a good part of it by selling affordable gear and advertising them as PRO audio equipment.

Beat library or creation software?
Can anyone recommend a beat creation library or software?
I've been using Spectrasonics Stylus but I'm looking for something more now.
I'm looking for pre-composed beats -- not something to create beats completely from scratch. I can already do that in Nuendo.

patchbays for extra gear
Hello! I have used digital recording mixers for some time now. However, I now have more analog inputs (synths, drum machines, etc.) than I have input jacks available on the sixteen-track recorder. It is a Yamaha AW16G, which only has eight analog input jacks. I have a patchbay(Behringer PX-3000) which is a standard A/B vertical pairing (X 24 of them). In other words, 48 total analog jacks.

DSP chips vs. CPU
Ok,
I figured I'd start this, hopefully in the right place. At this point we have totally confused poor Jonathon and cast doubts on his choice :).

Walker audio consoles
Hi everyone new to this site. Had seen people talking about Walker or earlier version Pulsar consoles. One person was I believe was Sky. I know quite a lot about Walker as I have an 80 Series 32x8x8 and a 24 x8 monitor console. Both are in pristine condition. The 80 Series has at the time the 5 way fully sweepable eq, not many consoles had this option as it was towards the end of production.

Roland VS 1880 - transferring individual tracks onto other machine to be mixed and mastered m
Hi, i`ve done some recording on the 1880 and plan to do more . I`m not very techy and it took a long time to learn how to use this machine - I still have a lot to learn - but i`m happy to just be able to put tracks down and mix o.k. creating a decent soundscape . However, once played back on c.d. it sounds o.k.
Walls: Sound Isolation in Room with Foam Concrete Slab Insulation
I'm planning to sound-isolate an already-converted garage built on concrete slab. I want to modify the walls to have mass-air-mass with two layers of drywall inside and out.
cleanup VHS audio
Hi all,
I have a recording of a guitar recital I played in 1993, recorded by VHS recorder then transferred to DVD
I need some plugins to remove noise, dry up the room reverb if possible and re eq.
I have been playing around with Audacity, and I am familiar with the functionality of various effects and their benefits...
