Preferred disk/drive delivery to replicatior
Forums
I know this is general, but, is there a preferred CD-r (drive, format) to give to clients/replicators as master, in general. i talked to a guy who said it should be a data disc with the most basic version of binary code. The band could've gone to a professional mastering house, of which a few i recommended, as well as some other more established local engineers.

What I don't understand about the K-system
Forums
I've read a lot on the web about the K-system of monitoring, metering and mixing/mastering. The K-system basically attempts to ensure that a finished song has at least 12dB of RMS headroom, right? So that the song sounds dynamic and lively, as opposed to squished, loud and generally Mastered for !tunes.

Sanity Check - Spoken Word Narration
Forums
Hello All --
I am brand new here, and nearly new to audio and video. I was a master control engineer years ago (worked my way through EE university), so I do understand some basics. Of course things are all different now! I hope this post doesn't break forum rules. I won't feel bad if it's moved or zapped as long as someone points me in the right direction. OK...
