I'm hoping this is the right place to get a recommendation for audio restoration and mastering software. These are all mono recordings so don't need any mixing. I'm more concerned with the mastering than I am about the restoration. I'm working on some 1930's to 1940's recordings from open reel, mainly from radio broadcasts.

No this is not the umpteenth thread on how many minutes will on each side of a record, I've been preparing pre-masters for lps for some years already. However this time I've stumbled on a big difference in playing times of each side. I know the playing sides should be as close to each other as possible, as I've understood this causes a difference in volume.

Hey, as I mentioned in another post, I'm looking to branch out from local bands in my area and get drum up some internet business for my mastering work.

I'm shopping for an EQ with vibe. Can I get something that is close to everything? Tight bottom end, rich mids and silky highs or should I be investing in EQ's that are designed for a specific range? What is the best for mids?

This has to be a simple solution but I'm stumped.

My bounced 2 track sounds great at 16/ 44.1 but on the CD some transients are distorting. I've never had this problem before. How can it sound great ITB?
I'm even lowering my level to -6 and still some subtle clipping is occurring on the CD.

Hey, I've done some small time mastering for some local bands and friends and have delivered the masters in CDR format but now I'm thinking of expanding and trying to get some internet global business. I realize that a lot of clients will ask for DDP images but I really don't know that much about it.

Hey, I burned a test CD using CD Architect 5.2 and made sure that I added the titles of each track and the title of the record. I flipped that CD into my PS3 and it blatantly greeted me with a message saying that it couldn't retrieve the CD information.

Basically I want to know if there's a way to write info to digital format music files. I want to put in the artist/song/isrc code/album art and possibly even lyrics. I've heard talk of this but am actually to where I want to do it now so any insight would be much appreciated.

I'm redoing my home mastering setup and was pondering if a mini mac would be a clever in a mastering setup. And if there is anyone out there using a mini mac for that kind of work? I'm kind of new to the mac world so excuse my silly questions

First of i am a noob when it comes to mics because i just started this whole home studio thing. Now, i just need to know how much phantom power does this PA system gives off.
