Mastering Recommendation?
I am finishing up an R&B / Urban Pop album and am in need of a reputable mastering house. I am definitely on a budget, but for reference, several of my favorite albums were mastered by Brian Gardner at Bernie Grundman and Chris Gehringer at Sterling Sound.

Is the Mastering Engineer making a comeback?
I wonder what the state of the industry is these days. Are more people having their work mastered by a "stand alone" M.E. or are the do-it-yourself folks making yet more inroads?
What is the Rec.ORG community doing?
Has it worked out for you?
Would you change for your next project (either way)?
Mastering for Voice Communications
I was wondering if any of the ME's here have ever done any work for purely voice communications (e.g. prepping a track for playing over a bandwidth-limited channel).

The time for me has come to master.
I have a few tools available to me.
1. Universal Audio UAD-1 card (loaded to the max)
2. Steinberg Wavelab
3. IK T-racks 24
4. Waves Diamond bundle
Which tool should I use to get the job done?

'Track Zero' "mastering"
I am working with someone who wants to put a track zero hidden track on his next album; the 'song' is a drumbeat and rapped lyrics that are much more vulgar than the rest of the song, and only 'hardcore' fans will find it.

Engineering a vintage sound
Hey gang, I've recently switched from working on electronic stuff to working on more organic material. For most of these tracks I'm looking to dial up a sound that's similar to early Motown, Phil Specter's "Wall Of Sound" and what-not.

what standalone burner to get
Hi, I am new tody to the forum, so forgive me if this has been answered before. I have a Roland VS 2400CD, and I love it, but I bring the songs into a Tascam CD-RW750 which totally crashed on me, and I have no way to get the multitrack hooked into the computer, so I am stuck with buying another standalone burner. I would like to get a recommendation on brand and model numbers.

Nice open sound?
**This is a question about Panning Laws**
I've been noticing a clear difference between my mixes and those of professionals. In the past, I never did much with panning and everything was usually mixed in stereo.
