Well Dave Mcnair (AKA: the gear whore) has the demo of the Algorithmix Blue eq and I went up to his place to go take a listen to it. A definate add to your eq list of things to try out. for a plugin eq it's sweet. I think it's in the $900 range

Had a hard time deciding exactly where to put this post and may have been somewhat dramatic with my "subject" title but.

I was curious to hear if there were others who had thoughts with regard to the quality of the airing your music was receiving - given today’s technology.

I put this in the 'recording studio' forum earlier, but maybe it should have gone here instead..if it's a faux pas to do it in both at once...sorry, I'm both a newbie and uninformed (i.e., a puzzled idiot)

My mix is loud, yes, but its barely hitting zero and not cliping in my meters. When I Listen to the file on my computer it's perfect, but when I burn a CD, the CD clips.

What am I doing wrong?

If I drop the master volume 2 db its fine, but my meters are telling me I shouldnt have to do that.

Couple things on the subject-

I finally have my turntable up and running now that I finally have a good phono preamp and I've been digging through all my old records.

I've come to some conclusions.

Me likey lots. Blows my old 1/4" deck to dust - and if you look near the bottom of the photo, you'll notice the 1/2" headstack and rollers in the red box...

I have to choose between the version with and without harddisk. Obviously the one with harddisk is far more convenient. But since this unit will be sitting right next to me I would like to know 2 things before choosing it:
1. Does the harddisk spin down and become completely silent when not in use?

I am purchasing a couple pieces of gear but have a question about my selections.

I am looking to purchase a Pendulum OCL-2 and a CRane Song 'Ibis'

I will use them for tracking but... was wondering if these unit will be good for mastering as well.

I record acoustic/electric jazz and some chamber quartets, or other choices?
