When a PR person gets too excited
Apparently, this will enable you to "set a digital zero", while 2 different algorithms "give you the tools necessary to fix a bad mix".
A mastering compressor they say too, looks more like a limiter to me.

Well, I thought it was funny :P

2nd comp after Gyratec X for levelling purposes
I'm looking for a 2nd compressor to put in my chain after my Gyraf Gyratec X Vari-Mu.
I use the Vari-Mu for warmth, mix-glue, and 2-3dB of compression.
PLEXTOR DVD: as good as their Premium CD?
(This is sort of a follow-on to [="http://www.recording.org/ftopict-24794.html"]the Hidden Track thread[/]="http://www.recordin…"]the Hidden Track thread[/] I started, but it's probably a good topic on its own.)

In what order do I work?
Using nuendo..
Normalize? then mix? then mixdown(bounce)? then start with mastering like deEsser? Magneto? Multiband Compressor? on the whole track? or do you master each track by itself? or what?
any help would be great.
Thank you.

Hidden-track CD's
Anyone know of any burners that permit writing of discs with a hidden track at the beginning of the disc? (ie. permits Track 1 Index 1 to begin somewhere after 2 seconds?)
I know a lot of folks on the board use Toast/Jam on the Mac. I use CD Architect 5 on WindowsXP. (please be kind :) )

How to get that loud, but not so loud sound
Greetings:
I just discovered this forum. Great stuff! I thank you all in advance!
I'm in the process of mixing and then mastering an album. I'm using all of the Waves plugins - meaning, I have every one of them at my disposal. And I'm using Cakewalk Sonar 4.1 to mix and master.

How many guys are still using the L2?
Just thought I'd throw this out there and see who's using it as their primary limiter. I have only used mine as a limiter once in the last 2 months. I just got tired of the flat sound I think it gives to aggressive stuff primarily.

Help me set this gear up?
I have in a rack: Manley Massive Passive, Vari Mu, Avalon 747, and Crane Song HEDD. In my computer I have Samplitude Mastering 6.0. I have the MOTU 828mkII with firewire to get out of my comp. Genelec 1032 monitors. Lexicon 300 L reverb. Alesis Masterlink for burning.
Can I set this up to do some mastering? If so how?
Thanks,
'Woods
