Which Mic?
The Shure KSM 44 or the MXL V6?
Mainly for vocals and guitar.
It's a toss up?

I'm thinking of getting some new mics...
Drum roll...
RODE K2
Beyerdynamic 160
Sennheiser 421
I've read lots of people use the 421 on guitar and bass cabinets and toms and horns too.
The Beyer 160 for acoustic and sax.
The RODE K2 seems to be getting lots of good reviews to for vocals and just about anything..
Any input on these mics would be great.

MICROPHONE GROUP BUY
Since this is a budget minded topic, I am going to try to put together a group buy on some mics from the factory. This factory makes the Nady, Apex, and too many to mention here. To avoid the hassel of posting all the info again, I have pictures and prices, as well as info here.

Soundelux MIC
Hi gentlemen.
I am interested in buy a Mic Soundelux. I record locutions for commercials. My voice crest is very guttural. It would like a mic that had good capitation for low frequencies and brightness. Could anybody indicate some Soundelux? Someone can give some opinion?
Thanks.

live vocal mic
hello, I'm a singer in loud metal/rock bands but i actually sing not shout or scream so my voice isn't shout level loud. I'm looking around for a good vocal mic for live use. i owned a Shure beta 58 sometime ago but sold it because although it did cut through a loud mix it sometimes sounded a little shrill or brittle on the top end.

I just orderd my first condensor mic!
OK, I am rather excited even though it is only a 50 dollar mic. I can not wait to get it in. I currently am using (well sorta using aka in the box but mine) an M audio Delta 44, and a Yamaha 12 channel mixer with phantom power. Do you think the signal is going to be too soft using just the mixer with no preamp? I do want a preamp and I guess that is the next thing on the list.

How to mic a school play?
Hi~ I got thrown at the last minute into running the board for a school play. All things considered, it went okay, but I'm a musician, not a live sound engineer and I'd like to do better should this happen again.

controlling dynamic range
What kind of processor is used to attenuate the volume of a mic or channel? I have a Podium mic that i need to keep at a certain db so that you can hear sometimes and so he doesn't blow your ears drums at others.
