MG MV692/M71
Forums
I was given a pair of MG MV692/M71 mics to use (if I choose) for an upcoming choral / organ / piano / brass gig.
I'm not interested in debating spaced omnis vs coincident pair for this sort of recording - I respect the differing opinions on this aspect of choral recordings - and I will be using a coicident (or nearly) for this recording.

$1200 Mic. Budget..help pls
Forums
Hi! I've got $1200 to spend on some microphones. I'm going to be recording drums, 2 guitars, and a bass at the same time. I'll prolly just DI the bass tho. I was thinking of putting 4 mic's on the drums and then have 1 mic on each of the guitar amps. I also need to buy 5 mic stands and 5 mic cables so this needs to be in the budget.

Awesome all around great tube mic under $4000
Forums
I have a pair of Kiwis and Gefell m930s that I am happy to have. HOWEVER, I would like to expand the mic selection with one more mic that would be great on male/female (at least 50% of the time) and great on flute. Rich, smooth but not muddy, especially because it will be in a big mix. Also, if it would be good as a third mic on piano bass, that would not bother me at all! THANKS
odd mic problem
Forums
I recently borrowed a B&K 4007 for acoustic measurement of my room. I discovered that it had the odd problem of randomly cutting the volume by about 4 dB. The cut would last for a second or two, then the volume would return to normal. Any ideas on what could cause this?

Rock Revival Drum Kit mic technique
Forums
I recently read about this technique and gave it a try on the last album i did. It turned out FANTASTIC. Basicly it is a way to pepper in a lo-fi vibe to a otherwise crisp hi-fi drumkit... its a common trend with the rock revial bands like: the strokes, killers, franz f., etc.
