Choosing high quality LDC mics
Hi there
Thanks for all your advice on the other thread. I now have this purchase (2 Distressors) sorted out for the beginning of next month. So that I have adequate time to research and consideration to what I get next, I thought I'd post this kinda early.

Problem recording two lavalier mics in close proximity - Help!
I'm having a serious audio recording problem using two Sennheiser MKE 2 lavalier mics in close proximity. Here's the situation. My wife and I are recording a live video broadcast. We sit directly next to each other facing a video camera. There's only about 6 inches between our chairs. I speak very loudly. She speaks very quietly. Both mics are going into a Mackie Onyx mixer.

Mic and Pre purchase... what should I get?
Hi. I am sort of a newbie to recording, though I have been playing music and writing for many years. I'm writing because I need advice on setting up my project studio. I have been currently working with the following (consumer, and from what I gather not ideal) gear:
1) A/D and Preamps: M-Audio Profire
2) Mics: Shure Betas (assorted 87A, 57A, etc.)

Maybe a ribbon mic is more suitable for my needs? (info inside)
Hi, i'm looking for a vocal mic and the sound i'm really aiming for is something like James Taylor's old classics.
good mic to pair with a Shure SM57 for recording guitars?
Can anyone answer the above question, mainly when i record guitars at the moment i mic my cab with an SM57, record the dry signal through my BSS Audio active D.I. Box and also record the Balanced signal from the direct out on the back of my Marshall TSL100 then blend the Direct out signal with the SM57 signal.
