Help with MBox 2, PreSonus TubePre and Sterling Audio ST59 mic.
Hello all, I have, what I hope will be, a simple question:
Alesis Micron vs. M-audio venom or other synths under $600
I'm looking to get a synthesizer with sequencing capabilities, quantize function, and analog or "virtual" analog. I definitely want something that I can sequence drums with and that has really nice drum sounds. I'd like any advice about what a synth in the $400-$600 range that have those features.
Performing at an Open Mic
I've played/sung at larger venues before, but never at a coffee house open mic. It was really weird. What are you supposed to look at? My darling wife claimed that my eyes were closed the majority of the time. I think it would be weird to have a moment where I made I contact with people. It would just be awkward. What do you guys do?
Thanks!

Best Value Microphones
Hey guys, I was wondering about what you all think are the best value microphones. I don't mean cheap microphones that sound better than you expect, just any microphone that seems priced below its performance. Some examples include:

"Microline" polar pattern?
What is the "microline" polar pattern? Is it any good? Is it a Audio-Technica thing, or an industry thing?
How does this compare to Cardiod and hyper-cardiod?
Thanks,

Help mic-ing an acoustic guitar.
I have an acoustic guitar, and I'm playing a riff which consists of chords with hammer-ons and pull-offs. I have a perception 420 mic, it's not the greatest, but I can get a decent sound out of it. I also use my PreSonus channel mixer as a pre-amp, since it has a tube overdrive function. My question is, how can I get the hammer-ons and pull-offs to stand out from the the rest of the riff?

Good day,
Time to upgrade our pulpit mics. We have a set of cheap Apex (cheap) condensor pulpit mics with 18" arm mounted to an Audio-Technica shock mount base.

Help Choosing Mic for Acoustic Guitar
I'm looking to two-mic record an acoustic guitar. I've found a local company who will hire out microphones but I'm out of my depth when it comes to choosing from their list... If anyone with the knowledge can have a look at the hire list below and let me have some thoughts on choice and application it would be greatly appreciated...

Problem w/ volume and quality with Saffire Pro 24 and e835 mic
I am setting up my first home studio for doing some personal singer/songwriter hobby-oriented stuff and recently received my first audio interface and serious mic in the mail. I'm having trouble and am trying to determine whether something is defective, so I can return it in time, or if the poor quality is just the way it is.
