Mic Preamp / channel strip for the RODE NTK
Hello everyone, I ask you for one piece of advice.
I need a mic preamp for RODE NTK. I would like to improve sound and reduce noise.
Does anyone know which mic preamp would work out well?
In view of finances, I am currently limited to a maximum of about $450 / 300 eur.
I have a sound card M Audio Firewire 410.

How would you mic this drum set?
I have a Shure SM57, SM58, PG 57, BG4.0 and an Audio-Technica ATM33a. If you were going to record a drum set with these microphones how would you do it? Thank you for your help!

Good Mic
Hi again!
I've got a pair of ESI nEar 05 eXperience monitors for Christmas - they sounded great compared to others in the shop! I have my Line 6 POD Studio UX1 which, thanks to this forum, was a great buy!

$100 Piano Mic Suggestions
I am an AV tech with a dillema. I am tired of using my company's cheapo mics to mic pianos when they come through. I was wondering what would be a good general purpose microphone that is pretty good sounding on pianos for under $100. any suggestions? I would be buying this, not the company so 100 is all I can justify spending for something that really won't monetarily benefit me.

Piano Micing
Does anyone have any ideas on how to mic a steinway upright piano and make it sound full and not too muddy?
Right now all my recordings sound either tacky or very unbalanced or both.

Needing some Micing suggestions
Hello - I am a newbie to the forum. Not to playing music.
I am a drummer and am trying to find the right mics for my style.
I play in a Celtic group. Fiddle, Piano, Drums, and sometimes vocals.

1/8th Inch Laptop Mic Input, Also Stereo Line In?
When I bought my old laptop 7 years ago(Hp Pavilion ze5170), I was surprised to find out that the 1/8th inch Mic Input was stereo...When I would use a stereo source, like the headphone out from a multi effects unit like a Pod or Digitech Genesis 3, the laptop would record stereo on one track, just like a line in jack, very cool.
