if u cant tell by all of my posts I'm a big fan of john mayer and the sounds is engineers seem to get out of the instruments being played

but i was wondering if u guys think that the bass line is this song is recorded using a mic and bass amp or a di box?

Unless I'm completely stupid, which is a distinct possibility, I didn't see a forum specifically for this sort of thing, so I'm sticking it here.

I've got a few vintage dynamic microphones that require a special four prong connection at the mic. I've got one such working cable. This cable boils down to an unbalanced quarter inch plug.

can't tell from the pic- but this guy is right down the street selling this.

Got the XLR Leads today and happy that i wa finally going to put some vocals on a long awaited track. Although when everything was plugged in to the Behringer Xeynx 1002 mixer i was recording through, i clicked record, and a buzzing sound was being picked up. When i spoke through the mic, it wasn't picking my voice up!

so i am recording a keyboard on a my multi-track recorder.
would you guys recommend i mic the keyboard coming from an amp
or directly input it into the recorder?
i am using a Shuresm57 for the Micing and a boss br-8 as the recorder

I am a harp player and use a bullet mic with an old Silvertone amp.
The bullet goes through the amp, and the amp is mic ed through the snake.
My mic hangs over the front of the amp. (typical)
I get the tone I want, no problem.
However, at a gig last week, the sound man detected a "feedback" and/or

some techniques used to get big bass drum sounds punchy and meaty?

i have AKG d112, m audio octane 8 preamp and the only compressors i have are pro tools plugins. any suggestions how to get the biggest sound possible?

I Just bought the audiobox usb by PreSonus, 2 outputs.
I'm realy just starting to record music, and have some trouble geting started and configuring my softwear.
I also baught a mic ( atm410 ) vocal mic, and got Cubase le 4 with my audiobox.
