AKG Perception 100: Convert to USB (how?) or buy a USB mic?
Hi
What do you think is the best way for me to achieve this for the least additional $$$ outlay? I need to record a female speaking voice for an audio publication, via my PC. The result needs to be really pleasant to listen to for an hour or more, meaning warm, clear vocals with no annoying noises.
Casual-use drum mics?
We're going to start making some live multitrack gig recordings of the band with a StudioLive desk, but I want to start recording some rehearsals as well for listening back purposes later.

Ribbon mics and quiet sound sources
So last night I was recording lightly picked guitar (both nylon and steel string in turn) with Beyer 130/160 in MS. The guitarist uses primarily the pads of his fingers and his sound is pretty quiet (he's used to playing amped). I like the sound I got best with the pair about two feet away, but at this distance I had my API 3124 cranked pretty much all the way.

Can anyone tell me what mic he is using in this video?
Can anyone tell me what mic he is using in this video? and what other mic can I get that has the same result, or even better, because I want a good mic thats good for hip hop and R&B.
buzz from mic plugged into the mic input on my computer
i have been trying to make demos for my band using garageband and the mic input on my MacBook. I am pleased with the sound of my acoustic electric guitar and my Yamaha digital piano plugged into the input. I can even hear it directly.

RODE NT2
I get a very airy, flat, thin sound. Then again I have a horrible voice and I intended to use it for a girl, not a male. Does anyone own this? Is it just my novice EQ'ing skills? Thanks!

Condenser Mic Troubles?
I always have this nagging fear that every time i hold a condenser mic in my hands i've somehow broke it because i griped it to hard, or whatever, because everyone tells me there so fragile.
But so my question is, how sensitive are condenser mics? And give me an example of what action would break it to the point where you can hear a fair difference in sound?

Recording it all- with what microphone and what sound?
-Stupid Question-
Desktop mic stand w/ good weight holding and long boom
So one thing that I'd like to be able to do is have a mic stand on my desktop whose base is a few feet away from my sitting position with a boom that extends all the way toward me for singing and maybe another one for a stereo mic stand. This would be convenient for practicing and reviewing practice, or maybe for making youtube videos or something.
