I don't think I've seen any mention of these here. One of the guys at one of the music stores I frequently go to told me about Blue Mics. They look interesting, and not just physically. :P Anyone here ever used one?

Since ribbons are on everyone's mind including me, I'm wondering how fragile these things really are. I never considered using ribbons when I ran PA because I thought they were too fragile for Marines. Not much is Marine proof. Now I am mostly a classical location recordist.

IM USING A Tascam 4 TRACK.I WANT TO RECORD DRUMS ONTO ONE TRACK. I WAS GOING TO USE A CONDESER FOR AN OVER HEAD AND A DYNAMic FOR THE BASS IN THE INPUTS OF THE PHANTOM POWER SUPPLY THEN USING AN XLR SPLITTER FROM THE OUTPUTS INTO ON OF THE TRACKS ON THE Tascam...THEN I REALISED THERE MIGHT BE A PROBLEM.

What's with this mic? Is it even a good mic? Better than SM58? I'm going to use it for recording? Is it better or worse than the NT1A for recording? Thanks!

Will a condenser mic still pick up plosives if theres not pop filter but instead a windscreen?

Does it have to be of a good quality material to be effective at all? Do cheap pop filters work?

Hey, I've been using a MXL 990 and 991 condenser mics to do most of my recording. I use them from drums to vocals. The only thing is that I realized that they are just not that good. Sounds seem too muddy and they seem to need so much EQ, and by that time it sounds totally different from what I started with.

How good is this mic for vocals?
