Ok I have a sytek preamp with the burr browns very smooth going to an AKG solidtube mic nice mic it just seems to have a lot of hum could the power supply be going bad?

Hey RO'ers I want to know when you all are mixing in the digital domain, what levels do you start at? I usually have the master fader at unity and back off the levels on the other faders until that particular element of the song sounds right with the rest of the mix, is this a fair way of starting a mix?

How are the standard plugins in this software compared to Pro Tools 6 or 7 le?

also i have the Wavesplatinum bundle that i use in Pro Tools le should i be able to use those plugins in logic pro? ...

Hello, I'm having some difficulty with a roland sound module JV1010. Im unable to change pathches and control it with my controller. I have a a Fatar's midi out connected to the modules midi in, the module identifies a midi signal. The module is set to Perform, but when I change the patches it doesn't respond, neither to bank changes. The only sound I can hear is a simple piano.

I will be reciving my Macbook pro soon and would like to know which software to run my tracks on. I have a Tascam US-122 USB interface and will be doing lots of layering with midi files, guitars, bass, vocals etc.

I picked up an old Yamaha Pro Mix 01..I am trying to configure it as a control surface for Sonar 4. I am getting midi messages when I hit the scene change button but, no other midi signal when using other controls such as faders etc...
Does anyone have experience with the Pro Mix 01 as a control surface that could shed some light?

I am currently using Logic Express, and I am having a lot of trouble with it.
It seems like the wrong program for me because it has so much Midi capabilities and not much real audio recording capabilities.

I was wondering if anyone has built a mic preamp amp from PAIA.com I have heard that they sound good, but it wasnt from someone that I actually trust they know what they speak off.

I would like to get my first pro channel strip that has mic preamp, comp, EQ and etc...I am considering Sebatron Thorax, or to save some cash, a Focusrite Voice Master Pro. I'm using it mainly for demo making and small projects. I am open to other options as long as it is a quality gear.
