PT-LE users who use hardware effects in their rig - HELP!

Hi,

I want to incorporate some of the hardware components that I own with my PT-LE rig but I am find that dealing with delay compensation annoying and time consuming.

I know other DAWs have native delay comp and it is also part of PT-HD.

How do fellow LE users deal with delay compensation and latencies that occur when using external hardware?

Logic Pro vs. ?

Well I’ve been reading allot about music software, I thought what better place to ask for help then here. Since everyone here is very knowledgeable. But I’ve been playing around with Logic Express, and was going to drop some funds on Logic Pro. Then a friend say that I should look into Cubase SX3 or Pro Tools before I make that choice, and that took me for a spin after reading about them.

question for Sebatron owners

hello!

i've got a question regarding the Sebatron line of tube-mic preamps . are they coloring only in extreme settings or are they doing that all the time? would i be able to use them in a neutral setting for classical recordings or would you rather recommend to get a different mic preamp for that application? is there a "transparent" setting?

thanks a lot in advance...

Mixing protocol suggestions?

I am mixing some of my recordings using pro tools. I was wondering if anyone had any standard rule of thumb. Is it best to pan everything first. then adjust volume. When adding effects such eq, compression, delay is there an order that works best? I am very new to mixing. I spend an hour mixing then bounce to my hard drive, burn it to a CD. It sounds terrible. I know there's an art to it.
