Planning Software
High Friends
There is a software somewhere in the www that helps you planning the cables for your audio ro video studio.
Owner of this software can download graphics of the
equipment to be connected. So it is very userfriendly.
It works with ms-visio and other software.

Loading Proteus X as a VST in Cubasis
Does anyone have any clue as to how to load the Proteus X as a VST to sequence in Cubasis? I have installed VSTs before and loaded them in Cubasis, but under the VST window, Proteus X is nowhere to be found.

More important: front end(A/D) or back end (D/A)?
Wanted 2 knno from others about which end is more improtant 2 have(if u have 2 have just the 1)?
We are a hip hop production team/company. We make beats using mostly samples and keyboard. So we dont do any live recording. No special outboard gear(yet). We track using our beat machines(MPC/Triton) patched directly 2 our Digi 002. Thats it.
ISA 220 vs. . LA-610
Ok, my local dealer was kind enough to loan me the LA-610 from UA, and the ISA 220 by Focusrite to go with my Sennheiser MKH 416. Anyone have experience with either of these? Used exclusively for voice-over work. Thanks in advance...

Virtual vs. . Physical?
How would you compare between virtual effects such as plugins and outboard effects for recording? Do you think plugins are getting so good that some day most of us will be able to save lots of rack space? Or is outboard gear always going to be necessary? Of course outboard gear such as preamps will be always necessary, but in other cases (not only effects) such as EQ's, Compressors, etc.

Does this studio blueprint look good?
Going to be building my first studio and I would like to know what you all think about the products I'm going to go with. The goal is to have a good studio without having to spend tons of money on Pro-Tools.
I just want to get an opinion from you guys if there's something on my list that I could get better for cheaper.

Problems recording audio with metronome in Cubase
Hey everyone, this is my first post here and it's a newbie question... I've got PreSonus Firebox firewire interface and it came with Cubase LE. I've added an audio track to the project and I'm recording my guitar through the mic, however, it also records the metronome!

Tascam US-122 and Sonar
Anyone have one of these? My friend just bought one and wants me to help him set it up with Sonar. Is it compatible with Sonar? I'm looking at the site and it looks like it connects to a computer via USB and the monitors go to the line outs. Would using an RCA/TRS cable work for powered monitors since the US-122 has RCA outs? How do I go about setting it up with Sonar?
