I RECENTLY BEGAN TO DO ALOT OF BUSING TO MY AUX. CHANNELS AND FOR SOME REASON THE I/O BEGAN SETTING ITSELF AFTER I LEFT THE FILE. THIS IS BRINGING ON PROBLEMS WITH LATENCY AND A STRANGE CONFIGURATION SHOWING 18 CHANNELS IN USE WHEN I DON'T HAVE THAT MANY IN OPERATION. WHAT AM I DOING TO MYSELF? I KNOW ITS ME SHOOTING MYSELF IN THE FOOT BUT I AM NOT SURE HOW.

Right, here's the deal. The other day I bought a dynamic mic and preamp after years of recording with a measly PC mic (lol). I bought a Shure PG58 and Behringer Tube Ultragain Mic100. Yes, maybe poor choices but I dont want to spend alot, and I know that if i ever get it working i can get good results.

I'm a newbie here. great forum by the way. I'm learning the art of mixing "inside the box"( inside of the software). I use both pro tools and sonar. I record straight into PreSonus firepod which has nice pres. I was disappointed with my early test mixes. I can't get vocals to sit in well with the track...any tips anyone?

Anyone used it and can describe their experiences with it? THANKS very much.

A mate of mine has given me some recordings of his band that were done while they were playing live. He seems to think that because I have a few music programs on my computer that I can make them sound like they were recorded in a studio! I said "err no" but I hope I can do something to them to improve the quality ;) They are just general rock type songs.

So, I have the Mbox full bundle (PT 6.7, Sound Factory, IK Media, etc.).

I have been extensivley using/experimenting with the meek compressor, bombfact compressor, and the standard PT compressor plugins. They're OK for some particular instruments, but not very satisfactory.
