How do you use the surround feature in Cubase SX?
Forums
Just wondering what's used (hardware that is) to record 5.1/5.2 surround using SX? Mainly, I'm seeking info on what type of mixer, the best, or better yet, decent monitors & any additional processing that's used to get this started.

Any tips for mixing electric guitars?
Forums
Here's what I do - I don't have an amp so I record directly:
DigiTech MultiFx - AudioInterface - Vst cab sims/amp modellers
I usually record 2 seperate tracks for the same rhythm part and run them thru different cab sims, then EQ them differently and pan hard left and right - it gives me this great stereo effect with a place in a middle for drums and bass.

Over Compression- Over Limiting?
Forums
I always read about the great recordings you should listen to, to hear the best mastering jobs. Without being overly critical what are some recordings I should listen to to hear over compression, over limiting, etc. You don't have to step on toes here it's just important thing to know. :D

PCM 41
Forums
I just acquired one, and before this weekend have never used one. I have a few questions about this unit...
1.. If I mix the the signal totally 'wet' it sounds like there is nothing past 5000 hz coming out. If it is mixed 'dry' the signal sonds fine. Does this sound right?

Sennheiser U5 vs U4 vs MKII
Forums
Hi everyone, I was wondering if anybody had any experience or insight into the differences between the sound and/or design of the Sennhesier U5, U4, and MKII mics. There are no details as on the Sennheiser website and I was wondering if anybody had made an attempt to quantify the sonic differences between these mics.
