Forums
hello!
which would you use? Sonar 3 producer edition or pro tools 5.01. I have to tell you: I honestly don't know if the pro tools version is old... would I get basically the same results in a home recording studio?

"Mixing With Your Mind" by Mike Stavrou
Forums
i'm thinking about getting this book. i have read most of the other commonly recommended ones. this one isn't listed in Recording.org's recommended books list. however, i've heard some really good isolated feedback on it. if it wasn't so expensive, i'd have already bought it. however, i wanted to make sure it's really worth the $70.

hi...i have been doing all my projects using Nuendo...the studio where i want to get a final mix/mastering done only has Pro Tools...
i can do a mixdown of each track in WAV and open it in Pro Tools but i was wondering if there is an advantage of doing the mixdown in OMF (have never done OMF mixdowns so completely illiterate about that)...

Panning question
Forums
Hi everyone. This will be another newbie question but can anyone tell me what significance panning has in the recording process? There was this sound engineer guy I talked to once who said I need to pan a channel all the way to the left or right prior to recording a track. Does this really matter? If this is indeed the case, why?

Analogue Setup
Forums
I'm finally on my way to setting up a studio of my own, and have been shopping around for components, and I'm curious as to what the wonderful folk of this forum would consider their ideal set-up. The only limitation? Everything possible must be analog. Maybe it's my history in live sound, or my aversion to learning Mac, but let's see what you folk can do with this. Run wild.

ART Tube MP
Forums
Hi I'm wondering what your opinons are on the ART Tube MP preamp which i plan to purchase for my home studio?
I only need one channel... and will be going through my delta 1010lt soundcard... would the ART Tube MP be effective?
What are other preamps that are of great quality and have 2 channels at max?
Thanks
