As the subject says, I'm interested in what some averages/expectations are to pay musicians in the studio; or be paid myself which would be a LOW rate, I assure you (if you've heard me play...)

:) Hi Seb! Tell me, are the new tubes made better than the tubes of the 50's and 60's? I remember replacing many 12AX7's and 6L6's in my guitar amps back then. We would take them to the local drug store, and use their "Tube Tester" machine, and they always had a supply.

I'm very happy with it, but after several hours of testing I found a drawback... my monitor system reveals that any signal that's going through gets just a little brighter than the original signal and it probably also does more than that, more to come on this later :-)

Well being that I'm a Pro Tools HD user I'm not going to see that plug untill its released as the TDM version, so has anyone used this for the UAD, really anxious to hear how it sounds or perhaps even a short audio clip of a processed and unprocesed clip. Also another on the waiting list. have anyone used the cambridge

Hi All, I recently had an old FurmanPQ6 parametric modded from unbalanced to balanced. When I attempt to use it via a channel insert, I can see signal getting to the unit via the overload LED at the input level pot, but I can't get return signal to the channel. If I return signal to another channel by way of individual patch cords rather than send/return type, I get signal, but not much.

What are the differences besides looks of these 2 inexpensive preamps ? Are they basically the same preamps or is the DMP3
worth the extra dollars over the Audio Buddy?

I use Digital Performer and have never have the desire to learn Pro Tools or deal with it- other than a lotta people use it is there any real advantage to Pro Tools over say DP, Logic, Nuendo, Cubase, etc

Have people generally upgraded to DP 4+ or are most stil in OS 9 and 3.11?

I am currently running Cubase VST 5.1 on my DAW. It does everything I need and runs all the tracks with effects and plugs I can use but is beginning to have some compatibility issues in terms of being able to interface with newer products like control surfaces being released.
