I am auditioning an Alan Smart C1. I like it a lot, and I am wondering about the C2. Is the C2 an "updated" C1, or are the two completely different units? I don't want to go with the C1 if the C2 "blows it away" in some fashion. Any help out there? Thanks

If you are interested in compression (of the analog variety) you will be interested in Ted Fletcher's latest line of work. His latest unit 'Edward the compressor' pushes optical technology to the point where it emulates other forms of compression, (rather than the other way round).

What's going on here? I am having some odd signal level problems for which I have no explanation. I have sent an email to M-Audio's tech support department :roll: . A friend of mine is getting into live recording with an old ADAT. He's had decent sucess so far going direct out of the board, but he's looking for compression/limiting to make things more...um...durable. :roll:

have any of you tested the Fantom-S? I am disappointed that Roland stil does not have a keyboard with a lightpipe card and that poliphony is till the basic 64 notes.

Would you go for a software sampler like Gigastudio?

I'm looking at buying either an Allen&Heath GL2200 or a Soundcraft K1. Does anyone have an opinion about which they prefer? They both have very similar channle features. The main diference is in the master section from what I can tell. Any thoughts on which preamps are better or anything else for that matter?

i don't know why plugin companies so often charge
such big money for their software. it seems to me that
all they must do is offer their products at a more
reasonable cost. all it does is turn honest & good citizens into trailer trash criminals. especially because
they are mainly going to make their big $$ from joe

Have you guys evaluated the reverb plugins for TDM systems?
Seems Altiverb and Lexicon really rules. However, Lexiverd is not available for PT HD systems, right?
If anyone has already used Altiverb, is it really power hungry?
