I wonder what you do to make your mixes sound the way you want them to, both in mono and stereo. I've noticed how those mixes that really sound good almost sound the same in mono.

Hello all, I'm about to buy either the Yamaha AW4416 or the Akia DPS16.
I've been all over the place gleaning info on both and I JUST CAN'T decide! There seems to be a sort of underground thing about the DPS16 being "true" pro sound, but the AW4416 seems to have more flexibility.

Does anybody have experience with the machine?
The machine is for sale, I'd like to have it.

Anyone had experiences with these beasts? Anyone able to compare and contrast? I am sick of computer recording and want something else that is hard disk based (I like the copy/paste and undo functions, it's true). Any ideas? Doc

I have a Fostex FD-8 and I really need to be able to record on more than two tracks at a time. This looks like it could be a great Low-cost solution, what with the lightpipe in/out.

Need to put some reverb on some audio (omf) in Avid - is it possible to install a PT plugin ? Does Avid have audio plugins?

I've had two young women approach me in regards to going into audio as a career.

Please excuse if I sound ignorant, but are there any successful or competent female persons in the audio industry, or do you know of anyone... at any level of recording?

I'm curious about this and hope to put my friends' expectations more in focus.

HI,, A few days i was recording somes drums session at a friends studio.the studio is based on ADAT recorder, and I got Pro Tools on mine, so we decided to record on a mac runnig an old verion of Pro Tools software 4 {DIGI 001 }and i got a PC runnig PT 5.3.1 software..The session are not compatibles..the quest is how i could transfer the sesions from PT 4.0 MAc to PT 5.3.1 PC

I'm looking into a second mic to go with my radio shack wireless. j/k! I have a KSM44 being shipped as I write this and I've read all your praises of the SP's and I'm curious as to which is the better sounding mic.
