Upgrading / SONAR or SONAR XL

People,

Finally upgrading from Cakewalk's Pro Audio 9 to SONAR (I know, I know); & need to make a decision as to whether or not to go with SONAR, or SONAR XL.

The reason I ask is: I will also be picking up (as part of a total PC studio upgrade) Steinberg's Wavelab; & iZotope's Ozone 2, so as to have a decent mastering setup...

Pro Tools or Other Systems ?

I have been trying to decide if I want to step into the Digidesign circle ( looks good on a business card ) or if I should mix and match for the sake of versatility, ( Cubase or similar with selection of appropriate hadware ). My questions are simple ones.
Will Pro Tools help me to do better work ?
Will clients care what I use if the finished product sounds good ?

What equipment do I need?

Hey this is five-foot and I am wanting to re-open a studio. The building was built 15yrs ago still in good condition. My problem is that I am wanting to be digital and analog. I already have a fast computer, a pair of peavey AMR monitors and Tascam 8-track reel to reel, and some other small gear. My question is what do need and what about the hookup to make everything work.
