Just back from NYC, saw Kristin Hersh at the Knitting Factory and it was lovely. So are you still here?

I'm starting to see adds for a new WAVES bundle which includes the new "Linear Phase" Equalizer and "Linear Phase" Multiband Comp as well as the L2 Ultramaximizer. I've been thinking for a while about upgrading to the L2 anyway from my L1+, as well as aiming to get the Sony Oxford EQ.

Does enybady knows how to get a new driver for this sound card? because the last one is from June 2000, and I need to reduce my lattency.

A lot of people seem to love the analog vs digital battle but I wonder how many people record with a hybrid set-up like I have. Since I started with a 1/2" 8 track room in 1989 and then went digital in 1993 I decided to keep as much of the old gear in service when appropriate. For example, I like to track drums and guitars to tape.

Plugins are in their infancy. The pluginswe use today will on day be looked back on fondly as curios. The people who are developing them, currently, will eventually be seen as the pioneers of an entirely new method of processing audio.

These are the two eq pluginsI am reading good stuff about. Personally I am using the Pultec, but might be interested in the Sony if it was significantly better. Anybody have an opinion?

I just got a Tascam DM-24. Wonderful! Replaced a Mackie 8-bus 24ch... a great board, too.
I use Sonar (2.0 XL), and I absolutely cannot get it to react to the MMC from the transport buttons on the DM-24. Anyone have any luck with this combo?

I had the pleasure of getting some mixing tips from a gentlemen nominated for a Grammy this year who recorded/mixed/mastered the nominated record all in Pro Tools. He offered to Master our album.

Assumed that i compose and produce music within Pro Tools Mix and the master will go to a Post suite, where they will add voices and sfx using a Fairlight Prodigy and then they will squash the result with a multiband compressor and finally it will be cut on D1:
