Best Interface for 1500ish?
Forums
I'm just so indecisive, I guess. Now I'm looking into my best interface options for around 1500 total.
I need it to be able to track drums. I would consider a Rosetta 200 with the 1394 card if I knew it was just going to be me recording myself in stereo, but I need to be able to track drums, too.

FMR RNC & GT Brick hookup problem!
Forums
I noticed that my Brick has a balanced output but the FMR RNC needs an unbalanced input!
How do I handle this? Can I "unbalance" the line before it hits the RNC?
Out of curiousity I tried going into the FMR RNC with a balanced cable anyway and it works but there is some hum. It's also pretty low level and I have to crank up both the Brick and the RNC to get decent levels.

The need for speed?
Forums
Hi
I'm trying to choose a laptop for audio recording at the moment and, like many in my position, this involves a lot of research into what kind of features are needed to do the kind of audio work you want to do (for example, for myself, I will be recording acoustic music, under 8 tracks).

Buying RE-20 for VO work. Is my equip. sufficient for it?
Forums
I am currently using an AT-3035 for my voice-over work for radio promos/imaging. I am running my mic through an Alesis Multi-Mix 6 mixer, into a PC with X-fi sound card.
The Problem: The condensor mic gives me an alright sound but WAY too much "room" sound, and I read that the RE-20 is the best at blocking most of that out.

help setting up a starter home recording studio
Forums
I wanted to see if I could get some advice on what to go with to get a decent home studio setup. I already have Cubase SX but I have used Adobe Audition 1.5 for all my recordings thus far. I want to get into the midi so that is one thing I’m looking for. I have somewhere between 400 -600 dollars to spend so that is my budget.

Processor speed question
Forums
Hi
I'm an acoustic musician and I'm going to be recording songs with under 8 tracks. I've seen a very nice laptop (Acer Aspire 9813) which has a Core 2 Duo 1.66 Ghz processor (and 1 Gig Ram).
My software is Samplitude Pro Version 9, which has a lot of sophisticated reverbs and compressors built in.
