Midi Piano
Forums
I have recently purchased an m-audio keystation 88es keyboard, with the intention of taking up piano again. Now all i need is a decent piece of software with which to use it. Can anyone recommend me a program that delivers nice piano tones (and possibly a bit of Van Halen style square wave action), and is capable of handling the full 88 key midi input?
Cheers
Rich

Soundcard with balanaced output?
Forums
I'm now running a Samson C-control to switch between my M-Box 2 and Audiophile 2496 into my Tannoy Reveal 8Ds (and eventually another set of monitors). When I hook up the Audiophile to the C-control with the M-Box already plugged in, I get hissing noise. No other input hooked up, and I'm using balanced cables from M-Box to C-control and to the monitors.

new to recording couple of questions
Forums
1. I had a question about recording from the direct out of an amp, I dont seem to get enough volume, do I have to crank my amp up to get more volume or should I wait until I mix it and bring it up that way?
2. Guitar sounds: I was wondering what is the best way to get the best guitar sounds by Micing or direct with preamps.

What Do I Need?
Forums
Hi, I'm new and kind of need a bit of help. I have bought a condenser mic, "Behringer C-1" and new to this stuff and realised it needs phantom power and a XLR cable.
Basically the mic came with no cables, so what cables do I exactly need to connect it to my pc through soundcard?

Sound card choices
Forums
Hey, I posted the thread about how to took up my mics to my PC only to find my sound card is inadequate. So, I am looking for a new sound card!
I want to maintain good quality in listening to music and playing games in 5.1, however I also want to be able to record. I have narrowed it down to a few cards within my price range, but still am not sure.

M-Powered Pro-tools worth it?
Forums
Is getting an m-audio and then getting m-powered pro-tools worth it? does it run like regular pro-tools? or would it be better to get a Digidesign rig?

Help! My Roland VS Studio never sounds good.
Forums
Has anyone worked on a Roland VS Studio before?
I have a VS-1680 and no matter how I mic any instrument or vocal the recorded sound is always uneven, boomy and has no definition (muddy bass / zero crack of the snare / no 's' sound on the vocals). I am using the onboard preamps.

"Slowing Down Tape" Effect on a Revox B77
Forums
Hey guys, I've got a vocal clip and I need to slow the tail end of the clip down. Is this possible on a Revox b77, and what is the safest way to do it? Is it safe to turn the tape while the clip is recording from an external CD player? The plan is to get the track back into a DAW to edit. Let me know!

Digitech Jamman (or RC-20, boomerang, etc) Looper
Forums
I'm sure many of you fine guitarists have used the Jamman or other looping pedal. I'm even confident that several of you have tips and tricks that we need to hear about! Here's my specific question - how the heck do you keep a tempo live? I mean, even if the drummer and vocals can hear your guitar, traditionally, they don't follow you, the guitar follows the rythm or voice.
