Hey I've been out of the scene for a while and a friend of mine just bought some equipment .. i'm trying to figure out the best way to set this stuff up. . any recommendations on setup and other equipment to buy?

I have a bunch of music that I recorded onto audio cassette tapes using my 4-track Tascam Portastudio 424MK II a long time ago. Now I would like to transfer those tracks to digital tracks on my PC using my Cakewalk home studio 2002 software. I would like to store each track separately on my PC. The only problem is, with my current setup I believe I can only transfer 1 track at a time.

Does the Samsoin Rubicon 6a and Yamaha NS-10 compare? Are the ns-10's worth 500 bucks or even 800?

Hey everyone, I was really wondering how studios get such a nice sound. I don't expect much from the $150 dollars worth of stuff that I use, but which is more important: The equipment or the knowledge needed for mastering?

So having worked in the business for a while, I'm wondering why I've heard this change over the recent past? Music mixes on Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien, Carson Daly, et al.. What's with these music mixes of these bands? The most underwhelming mixes and lackluster sound I've ever heard. It's getting worse. No effects, no reverb, no space, lousy equalization, lifeless.

has anyone heard of this power amp that eddie van halen and tony iommi use with their live rigs (i assume) the H&H V800, does anyone know the basic topology of it, whether it's tube, what kind of solid-state, etc.
