I am just wondering which level should the mixer's master fader be set when recording/ mixing or mastering?

I’m having a horrible time getting my Lexcion Lambda interface to install. It worked fine on my laptop which is running windows xp, but as soon as I plug it into my desktop running windows 2k, windows identifies it then blue screens and shuts down.

for some reason the number of tracks recording at the same time is limited to 3 in audition and 2 in cubase. only recording with 3 tracks the recording stops short around 30 seconds or so in audition.

Can anyone explain this? Im trying to record my reggae/ska band.

I'm recording into analog mic inout 1 on the delta 1010lt and in the control panel there is still clipping. and I'm not doing something simple to remove it. i cant figure it out and i cant seem to see what I'm doing wrong. I'm testing the input levels using just a vocal and its still clipping, i know there are preamps built into the two analog inputs for the 1010lt.

I have a Focusrite Saffire and I'm thinking of getting an Acer laptop (Acer Aspire 9800 series).

I was cautioned by someone that Acers sometimes have problems with firewire audio interfaces. Has anyone dad any experience of this compatability issue?
