Recording direct through Mackie Onyx 400f

Hi guys. I'm trying to recreate as faithfully as possible the sound of a real miked amp. I'm recording my guitar (Epiphone Black Beauty) direct through the instrument inputs of my Mackie Onyx 400f, and using Guitar Rig 2 as an emulator. Of course, the tone isn't the same as recording a real amp, but it sounds too "direct".

ALL PAN POTS STOPPED WORKING! WTF!

:o Every channel on my Tascam 388 is now like it's stuck in Mono. The ability to pan went out while powering up, (Mono button is rarely used and not stuck- not the problem). All pots refuse to pan anything. Only the overall volume is slightly decreased when L/R, (strongest in the middle). I know this is an easy fix, just need to know what/where.

guitar signal splitter

I have been experimenting with recording jazz guitar (7 string archtop) for a while and was thinking a good approach would be to record the direct signal from the pickup along with mic'd up guitar/amp and to mix the various signals together. What is the best way to split the signal from my guitar into two outputs without losing any quality, adding noise, etc.?

Do you KNOW A GOOD STUDIO in LONDON-URGENT?

Where do you recommend for recording TOP Quality Vocals in or outside LONDON.

I would like a real warm analogy sound and I want to use Nuemann tube 47 Mike. Do you kneo any where that has stuff and engineers in this league of quality that doesnt cost more that £50 per hour.

PLEEEAAASE let me know of your experiences.

thanks
