Ok, this probably an over-obvious question, I should know the answer really (i'm guesing it's no...):

Can you record direct from an amp head, straight into the desk, bypassing the use of a cab? Or will the desk explode?

I'm guessing that 4/8/16 ohm outputs are not compatible with line inputs on a desk.

I have a Phonic 2443A mixer that appears to have some sort of routing problem. Yeah I know, Phonic, hahaha...OK. I bought this cheap on purpose cause I just needed it in my personal home project studio for some things. If it is broke then i'll buy something else but out of curiosity I wanted to know how some of you pros would trace down an issue like this.

I have to record 40 mono tracks at the same time on a G5, (SATA 7200trs/min drive). With MOTU and Dp.
I am wondering if the hard drive is fast enough.

Can someone tell me if the hard drive will be fast enough or if i have to do RAID, or has any other solution?

Well.. my Tascam fw 1804 has just arrived. this is my first interface. are theyre any other 1804 users out there?

care to leave me some feedback on how this puppy runs? what do you guys use it for.. any defects?

My understanding is that a phase shift is really a shift in time. If we have two sine waves, one beginning half a cycle after the other (180 degree phase shift), this would cause them to cancel each other. So all we need to do is move one of these signals in time to avoid this from happening.

Does this make sense ?

Im wondering about the Audio Regions list at the right of the PT window, when you place the mouse on top of the region, it should sound, but Im not able to do this. Anyone knows how to solve this?
