Sync Between Two Computers
Forums
I have Pro Tools with the Digi 002 on a Mac G-4. I also have Cubase SL on a Windows XP PC. I use Cubase for my MIDI sequencing, and PT for everything else.
I want to sync the two systems so I can have PT be the master and Cubase be the slave. Then I can record my sequencing without having to import it into PT.

Help with Drum Sequencing!
Forums
I have a Zoom RhythmTrak RT-123 drum machine. It only has a MIDI in, and I want to have my sequencer (Cubase SL) trigger certain sounds on the Zoom.
My problem is, the sounds I want are not in the GM drum map. I am having a very difficult time figuring this out. I have the Zoom manual which maps the sounds, but the numbers don't seem to match up with the options I have in Cubase.

b-stock or used gear
Forums
Im looking for some cheap PA gear for my band. Probably just JRX's and XLS amps. It seems that there arent any JRX's on ebay worth buying. The cheapest I found them was for 200 with 50 shipping so I'm only saving 50 over what I could get them for at the local Guitar Center. Are there any good online stores for used or b-stock gear?
Thanks,
Greg

drum recording question
Forums
when recording drums and using overheads, you're supposed to create a stereo image with panning one left and one rght, right?...how come with almost every song i hear, hi-hats always sound centered and they'll be one crash panned left, and one panned rght in the mix, but when i record, the hats are always more apparent on the left side because of the panning. whats the right way to do it

Recording Goody Pack
Forums
Im trying to put together a pack of things that may come in handy during a session.
the list so far..
moving blackets, flashlight, duct tape, soldering kit, moon gels, kick beater (DW hard core beater), kick pads.
I was thinking guitar and bass strings too or that going too far?

So when recording..
Forums
Do you guys like to use a rack unit, say a compressor or some sort of preamp, or do you like to save all the goods and go as far to say you dont use any type of modification to the sound and let the computer plugins do all the work?

Forums
Friends,
Is there any software, parallel to DP (Digital Performer) that can run both on Windows and OS X ?
Which is it and what are the differences ?
Also, are there any known issues with MOTU 828mkII on PC ?

Soundcraft Ghost?
Forums
Anyone know about this console? I have thought about updating my studio in the future, but I have been curious of how this console would integrate with my DAW.
Thanks in advance,
Ed
