leveling kick comp/lim?
Forums
I have recorded a drummer with a sometimes heavier foot, ie. the kick is all over the place. how should I level out the kick, compression or limiter, and what kind of ratio, attack and release settings? it is just way too dynamic, I used an old ludwig kick with a D112 into an older Joemeek , good sound just way to dynamic, I don't want to ruin the punch, just a lot less dynamic HELP!

which pre for bass, dbx or meek
Forums
alrighty folks, it seems like a simple question, I own a dbx 576 and am recording bass, I borrowed a MEEK from a friend (not sure of model) it is an older 2-rack space pre, with comp and enhance, big input knob on one side and output on the other.

Looking for an audio/wave editor
Forums
Hi all,
I'm looking for an audio editor for use with SONAR 4PE. I have an old library of recordings on tape that were made with a Tascam 488. Now I want to transfer and save those recordings to digital without the hiss and extra noise. I know Adobe's Audition and Bias' SoundSoap can be used for this purpose, but I am not that familiar with either.

Recording Guitar
Forums
I am starting to track guitar.
The guitarist I am going to track has cheap gear.
One of those Behringer V-Amp heads w/a 1X12 speaker.
It has XLR outs L/R. Does anyone record guitar on a, "stereo" track L/R? Should I just run one channel into my Brick and record mono? Is this rig worth putting a mic on?
