PreSonus Eureka vs. . Focusrite Voice Master Pro
Forums
Any advice please. I have narrowed my pre-amp selection down to these two : Focusrite Voice Master Pro or a PreSonus Eureka.
Which would be the better to choose or not to choose and why?

minidisc clipping
Forums
I use my mic mixer (Behringer UB1202) with my portable minidisc player (Sony MZ-N1) for recording. When Automatic Gain Control (AGC) is on, the levels on the UB1202 and the minidisc player seem to correspond well. When I turn AGC off (manual mode), the recording is totally clipped even though the level indicators on the UB1202 are green.

Internship
Forums
Anyone know of a studio internship in NYC? I am a keyboardist/songwriter looking for an internship to learn Pro Tools recording and editing. I basically just want to do SOMETHING in a studio to get a taste of the music biz. I'm into pop rock soul. I have all sorts of administrative qualifications and could bring a lot to table. Email me at joshuaaaron82@yahoo.com.

High Volume Recording
Forums
I prefer to, on my favorite amp (Hughes and Kettner Puretone), record at very high volumes because of the wonderful tube distortion I can get.
This has its problems though, mainly the very obvious one: "I can't turn my mic up high enough without clipping because the amp's to god damn loud."
Any suggestions and techniques used for high volume recording?

Crappy location power
Forums
I've never been on location where the quality of power was an issue. Just wondering what people here do to avoid the pitfalls of a filthy power supply, with bad grounding etc.
I did connect a cable to a brass grille on the floor that ran the length of the venue and found a slight improvement, but this was by no means necessary.
