I have heard very good things about the E-MU 1820m and am seriously thinking about buying it. My PC meets all the system requirements, my processor is 2.70 GHz but it is a celeron processor. Someone else mentioned that there might be a compatibility issue between celeron processor and this soundcard. Does anyone have experience or heard about this?

I am in a rock band and I am totally confused on what I need for recording please someone help me. Our band consistes of a bass player/vocals, 2 guitars,1 drummer. I need help or suggestions on any great equipment I should get...I'm looking at a 4-8 track recorder but, will that work...where do the cords go?

I do some low volume CD duplication. I print liner notes on nice, glossy paper and have a good system for folding and cutting. I now want to start printing jewel case inserts.

Recently I have been asked to convert records to CD's.
The record player I have has a line out that I run into my IMac G5.
I am using Garageband as my recording software for ease of use.

I have decided to finally buy a secondhand reverb unit so that I can compare it to plugin verbs. I am just about to buy an Lxp-1 on reviews I have read + it's cheap.
Anybody know when it came out, when production finished, how much it cost and how it measures up to other Lexicon units?

I have a friend that needs a Laptop for audio. I know much about PC's (boxes) but little about the laptop world.

We are looking for something around $600-800 US. Something not latest and best, but not old and crap either :)

I just purchased an RME Fireface 800. During all types of playback - Reason 2.5, CD, DVD and Mp3 playback there is a consistent crack and pop every 4 or 5 seconds.

I am running a G5 dual 2.0, OS X 10.4, 1 GB ram, brand spankin' new, Fireface connected through provided FW 400 cord.

so in pro tools le for mac, what would one need to do in order to create a preset plugin effect that when it is altered, changes for all the different projects? i want to be able to have my eq for intance, change for all the drum tracks if i alter it and not have to got into each one and fix it. get it?

I'm curious to know if anyone has experience in using the Apogee AD-16x as their main interface (with the firewire expansion card, of course). I see a lot of reference in using it in conjunction with an HD setup to replace the conversion, but never as a standalone unit, which it appears to have the capability of.

I plan on running it with my Soundcraft Ghost board...
